Day 321, 21 May 2013, Belize City, Belize. It didn't seem extreme when we booked our excursions, but this has accidentally turned into Caribbean Dive Adventure week. We didn't pull up and park this morning (at a pier like yesterday), rather we dropped in... an anchor that is. Ahhhh - a tendering port. Hours of fun - before you even get ashore. Ship was bobbing about like a champagne cork this morning - very choppy seas slowed up everything - The "Best Diving in the Caribbean" wasn't - spent 2-3 hours bashing through oceans for very average diving - second dive better than first, but it was coming off a frightfully low base. Ah well - dodgy operators translate to bitter complaints and that will no doubt translate to a partial refund in due course. Obviously it is getting a bit tired by now... but we dressed up and tootled off to dinner in the Golden Olympian again - the novelty of fine dining is taking a long while to wear off for us travellers inured to cheap eats worldwide. One of the highlights of the changing menu each evening is the "Didja" section. They translate it for the American passengers to "Food you've always wanted to try but haven't been brave enough to" - tame options have been sushi - but also Alligator fritters and Escargots - luxury items for us. The other highlight of our days (small and funny though it is) is returning to our stateroom at bedtime to find the attendant has given us a little towel animal companion for the evening - check out the glamour shots of our little towel friends in the album. This evening's entertainment put us into a Vegas frame of mind (precisely where we're off to after the cruise). It was a crooner putting on a tribute show to Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack - nothing like it. Right-ho - Off to Mahogany Bay, Roatan Island tomorrow (that's Honduras... must keep track when it's a different country each day!)
