Day 353, 22 June 2013 Pelaqueria Day! Dinner at Cumana. At nearly the end of the trip we thought we take the opportunity to get spruced up for a fraction of the cost in Sydney (20% of the price in fact, if not less) - so we headed to a Pelaqueria / Hairdresser on Maipu Street for the full treatment. We both feel 10 years younger. Was a pleasant morning getting fussed over and a lazy afternoon reading and resting after yesterday's massive Recoleta outing. We joined the hip young scene in the evening with some friends we met in Cappadocia, Turkey (they travelled for 2 full years... make us look like holidaymakers...) The restaurant of choice, Cumana in Recoleta is apparently one of the most popular around - by the time we left at 10.30 pm or so there were 20 or so people queued up outside. Like, it was amazing and great food and less than $40 for four of us but really, queueing up? Loved it and loved seeing our Argentinian friends. PS - if you go, order one of the potato dishes - we seriously did not know baked/jacket potatoes could grow larger than a softball. San Telmo's Sunday Flea Market tomorrow... Can't wait.
