Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
This morning we completed the rest of the Great Ocean Road which was a nice drive along the coastline. The predicted thunderstorms never arrived so we had quite a nice day. We drove by Bells Beach at Torquay but only viewed it from above as it was a fair climb down. Lorne looked like it would be a great holiday destination and I would stop here next time through.
We dropped off the camper on the northern side of Geelong so we could drive around town without it. Geelong is a fairly busy town, big enough to have paid parking withing the city area. Driving through Victoria reminds me more of Queensland and New South Wales rather than Western Australia and South Australia where there was a noticeable difference in standard of public spaces and facilities. Roads aren't in as good condition and there aren't as many toilets, playgrounds and bbq's as in WA and SA. There were so many important tourist signs that were unreadable due to trees growing over them. They are just little things but they all add up to an overall experience of having an enjoyable time in these places.
We drove all the way around the Bellarine region stopping by Portarlington and Queenscliff. Our last town we drove through Barwon Heads which is where the t.v. show Seachange was filmed. I really liked this town and would loved to come back and spend some time here.
