Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
I am so glad we held off a day to do this drive as we do have some blue skies which makes it so much better. It was really busy with tourists the whole way along but we still managed to get parking fine with our caravan on. Everything was really good to see. Matt and I both thought that the Great Ocean Rd would be around the cliffs the entire way and this is not the case. As far as we have come most of it you had to park and walk to see the coastline at all the big attractions and then it weaved a fair way inland before eventually winding around the coast like we expected. It is a really nice drive but I think I favour the coastal drive along Captain Cook Highway from Cairns to Mossman in North QLD. Loch Ard Gorge was my favourite section on the Great Ocean Road.
We had good timing today in that we were able to do all the stops and as we hit a stretch of 'just driving', the weather changed and it was back to grey skies and drizzling rain. We drove up and down the ranges with no overheating problems so that was a big positive. Once again the weather is dictating our plans so with expected rain and storms tomorrow we are going to drive rather than be stuck in the caravan all day.
