Ok guys.. I know.. at the beginning I was thinking to write this blog in english but actually I am too lazy for that so you have to be content with this summary.. but I promise you that I will try to update it also in english at least 1 per month..
I left Vancouver on the 13th October and I can definitely say that was the hardest part of my trip.. I left a lot of memories and too many nice people who gave me the possibility to spend a wonderful time in BC..
My "canadian" mum.. I wil always be grateful for the nice accomodation, the lovely meale she cooked for me and the unforgettable chat we had above all about Rocco..
Living with Laurie gave me the opportunity to meet so many nice people and every one accept me like one of the family.. Love it..
I miss all the italian/canadian family that I left in Vancouver.. paul and his family are lovely people and everybody would love to be part of their family.. I hope to see them soon in Italy.. in our warm season.. :D
All my ex co workers that make fun of my accent but loved me and accept me the same.. thanks guys.. was so nice working with you..
I am writing this 1st english blog from Toronto.. I left "home" just a few weeks ago but I did son many things, met so many interesting people and had the opportunity to visit this wonderful country.
I have the feeling that most of canadians underestimate their country.. I heard people talking just about Banff.. sometimes Jasper.. but never about Churchill for example, Winnipeg and Calgary..
Guys.. prepare your boots and go absolutely to visit this great country.. I am travelling using a website called couchsurfing that give me the opportunity to stay with locals for free.. I met some wonderful people until now which have a spare matress/bed/couch and let me sleep at their place for free.. I love this way of travelling.. You meet them and It looks me like they are your best friends, they help you organizing your visit, they prepare a nice meal if you are hungry and they are always ready for listening you and have a nice chat.. Simply love it and love all the people I meet until now.. :D
I am travelling with a Greyhound pass that is valid 2 months and give me the opportunity to travel around Canada and USA stopping wher and the time I want.. Ok.. It's not so comfortable for me (my mum made me too tall) but you have to adapt to it..
My favourite spots until now.. let's see...
Jasper and the fact that its surrounded by the nature.. crazy.. you can see elks, deers making the poo in the park of the town.. (ok that was not the most interesting part)
Calgary and its park and its wonderful colours
Winnipeg and the exchange district
the bysons of the Riding Mountain National park
and Churchill for sure.. I saw for the first time in my life the Aurora Borealis and the polar bears (in the wild obviously).. this was the top until now..
Beyond leaving Vancouver the hardest moment until now was reaching Toronto..
before leaving Thompson the driver told me the street was closed due to a flooding in Wawa.. and then we had some mechanical problems with the bus..
I had to fly to Toronto otherwise I would be stuck in Winnipeg for 5/6 maybe more days.. (ok I liked the city but I did not mean I want to stay there longer.. ;-D)
Ok guys I think this is all for now.. I have to try to reach my host for a quick dinner and then going home because the news say Sandy is coming also to Toronto... I missed the Earthquake in Britich Columbia but this I think is difficult to avoid..
Miss you all my friends.. I hope you are fine and you are keep travelling and enjoying this life.. Unfortunately we just have one, try to do the best with it.. and smile..
Love you all,
Nic
