Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up today around 10ish, everyone has left my dorm to go on treks etc. Which means people...that I'm going to get a whole bunch of randoms in who I'll either hit it off with or commence my notorious b****ing! I had breakfast this morning with a retro soundtrack from when I was 14 on a school trip to York...aah the memories are making me all misty-eyed. Pull yourself together Neil, yeah so the bar was playing "To the Faithful Departed" by the Cranberries.
Today is my Granpa Morrison's funeral, which due to my travelling, unfortunately I am unable to attend. He was a great granpa and I miss him loads just like my other late granpa Lawrie. I think I have a lot of their traits.
I sat in the sunny courtyard and relaxed looking over my Spanish and reading my book. I spoke to Joline and her typhoid friend Lotti. I have a few bites on me that are itching..it's not mozzies..better not be f%ing bed bugs I tell thee. Gee whiz!
I browsed the internet for an hour and discovered Scotland have just beaten Bulgaria 5-1!! Nice one lads! We're on the march with Walter's Army..... I also checked out my travel plans in Bolivia.
Later I went to see good old Don Pedrito and boy did he serve me up some great tucker! Soup with floating beetroot (I was shocked..beetroot can float?!) and then pescado frito..guess what it is..alright it's fried trout! Really nice nearly choked on the millions of fish bones but that's half the fun right?
I then ambled (ha I love that word) around Cusco in the bright sunshine passing all those pesky "amigo only one f%king sol" people and made it to the relatively tranquil area of San Blas where I sat in the square. i was then accosted by Antonio (a weird guy who asks for donations for a ficticious drug rehab centre). Ain't fooling me son; I asked for ID and he showed me a pathetic fake ID card. I told him to close his eyes...heehee..I'm terrible and put out his hand (he was expecting money of course...loser!) and what did I do well I pegged it into a nearby restaurant and watched him to see how long he kept his eyes closed. For the record it was only 30 seconds. Oh dear childish pranks and I'm 24.
I had my lesson and it went really well. Ã'm ecstatic actually, my Spanish has improved so much. I was able to converse easily and my grammar didn't need too much correction. My teacher said; "You're officially intermediate level" ..woo hoo! Sofia is the same age as me and attractive, we flirt quite a bit which makes the classes more fun! Yeah she's going to miss me. My last lesson tomorrow!
After I treated myself to brownies (amazing!) and banana/chocolate smoothie....estaba buenisimo!
Ok well I should probably let some of the people waiting in the queue behind me for the free hostel internet on. Tonight it's Thai green curry! I'll maybe have a few drinks in the bar by the open fire (they have one!) and then hit the sack with all my new amigoes!
Ciao!
