Neil's Round the World Trip!
We got up early and checked out of the hotel, had breakfast. We then walked around the centre and bought some gifts for the family. We walked to San Blas and I took my dad to my fave cafe in the whole world; Muse Cafe. We had some great, creamy hot chocolates and then walked to an internet cafe just to burn an hour. We then went back to the Cuban restaurant and had some sandwiches. I escorted my dad to the hotel and said my goodbyes. I then rushed off to my Spanish classes in San Blas with Adriana and picked up my laundry from the lavanderia nearby. I had 4 hours of revision and was absolutely knackered by the end! I then walked back to Hotel Prisma picked up my belongings and got a taxi to Hostel Suecia II near the square.
The hostel was really crap with weird staff. I didn't like it but had planned to meet Chris, Vanessa, Milu etc in a nearby pub so I dropped my stuff and went out. We had some drinks in Tropomundos and then went to the second most expensive restaurant in Cusco called Fallen Angel, it's predominantly a gay restaurant but Vanessa knows the owner and we were given a great table. I ordered steak in a red wine and rosemary sauce and we shared bottles of red wine. It was a really funky place with great interior design maybe Colin and Justin have dropped by at some point. An Aussie guy I met in Santiago was in the square outside so we invited him to join us for dinner.
We then went to Mamma Africas and danced the night away to latin pop etc! I got really drunk!! It's a wild place, there were people dancing on the bar!
I left around 3am and walked back to my hostel, there was no hot water and the room was depressing and freezing. In a generalesque moment (jimbo!) I decided the hostel simply wasn't good enough and so I left! I walked around at 3ish in the morning until I found a suitable hotel. So I checked into a luxurious 3* hotel on Gringo Alley. It was an old colonial building and my room was huge with cable and an en-suite bathroom.
