Despite the generous and tempting offer of three weeks in the In-laws house, we decided to head back to Bunbury today and move into our own house instead. We met with the real estate agents at 1030am and had the lease signed and keys in our hand by 1130am. We drove straight to the house to have a look and everyone was happy with the choice. The kids ran off to claim their bedrooms (and bathrooms!!) and the dog had a good sniff around the garden - she was not used to being off the lead at all!! We dragged the kids away and went back to the caravan park to collect the van and then returned to spend the afternoon cleaning and unpacking. We parked the caravan on the front verge, which isn't really allowed and can't be a long-term measure so back to storage once it's clean!! While we were unpacking the van a loud motorbike went past gunning its engine and Annie promptly burst into tears saying the house was too large and scary. An hour later Matty was also in floods, rocking away on his caravan mattress in his room also finding it all too strange. I choked up as we bought our mattress in from the van having loved our little tin can over this past year - it's been such a haven and not too small at all. While I spent the afternoon sorting out the house Nick took Matty shopping to buy a washing machine and fridge, as it was cheaper to buy then to rent for the next two months when our furniture becomes available as the tenants lease agreement ends on Mullings Way. For dinner we decided to walk down the road and get pizza and while we were waiting found a little park between the primary school and us, where the kids could play. They made friends with a bunch of other kids and wolfed down their pizza to go back to their game. As it got dark we wandered home, showered everyone and got them all tucked up in bed. They fell asleep amazingly fast considering their new surroundings, especially Anna and Katharine who were in their own room. By the time I got to bed I was shattered and fell asleep straight away, which was a good thing, as I couldn't dwell on the year being over! We've had an incredible time, learnt a lot about each other and have loved every minute we have been able to spend together - travelling around the country and seeing the sights was just an added bonus. The plan now is to save up so that we can do it all over again sometime so for now this is the end - until the next time!! xxx
