Disaster has struck - we have used the last of the WA milk and are now on SA brands but they just don't make cappuccino froth in the aerator like good old Brownes!! Nick woke up first this morning and started whispering "coffee" in my ear so I was soon up and about putting the machine on. Instead of 2 cappuccinos we had 2 very flat whites but they still tasted good sitting outside watching the ocean. We all decided to walk the jetty before breakfast and it was already quite hot. The tide was going out and lots of crabs were scuttling around in the shallows - the kids were fascinated! Nick made everyone breakfast and tried to fix the water pump with little success, then we had a second flat flat white before heading back to the jetty so the kids could have a swim in the enclosure. We pulled them out to head off in the car to explore and they all complained - everyone wanted a slow day! We checked out Port Hughes next door where there are 2 more caravan parks but we were glad we picked the one we did. Then we went into Moonta for a walk along the main street. There are lots of cafes and gift shops here, which we ignored but we did find a lolly shop and the kids were allowed $2 each - picking the lollies took the rest of the day!!! Another flat flat flat white back at the van with a piece of Grandma's Christmas cake (I'm not sure what we will do when it runs out as there is only a small bit left!) and a read in the recliners overlooking the bay. We had a late lunch and the kids played in the rock pools until the heat got too much and we all headed off to the jetty for a swim. It was about 4pm and felt like 38 degrees! I called into the local shop for an ice cream for everyone and yet another brand of milk to try and around 6pm Nick and I headed back to the van. Nick cooked dinner and called the kids up to eat around 7ish and then they ran back down to the beach AGAIN, only coming in as the sun set. They love it here and its perfect for all of us, as it feels very safe. We had to put the air con on to get everyone to sleep and then I spent the rest of the evening catching up on our accounts - very depressing! I thought I would miss my spreadsheets now I'm unemployed.....but I don't!

David Royston Not jealous at all - We've a leak in Tom's bedroom roof, the dishwasher's packed up, and it feels like there's been no daylight for 3 months. Did have a good shindig in Hull last weekend, but it's taken all week to recover!
Kit Fielder Hi Griswalds - love reading the blog. I'm jealous you're living your dream.
