Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
We spent the morning after breakfast on another walk around Amsterdam. I guess we've gotten to know the city pretty well - we were asked by a couple of people for directions and were able to give them. After checking out, we walked to the train station which was only about half a mile away. We took the train to the airport. The flight to Copenhagen was thankfully uneventful. We originally planned to take the Metro (subway) to our hotel but we decided we had lugged the bags far enough and took a cab. The hotel is a block from the waterfront and about half a mile from Nyhavn - one of the main tourist areas. Copenhagen is very expensive. A burger and fries in Nyhavn costs about $25.00 A donut at 7-11 costs about $3. We were able to find some good pasta in a nearby restaurant for about $15.00 apiece . Fortunately we get a buffet breakfast at the hotel.
