This blog post is a little different from my normal posts. I am entering TravelSupermarket's Capture the Colour photo contest. You can see my entries by clicking on the photos in the right corner to see the rest of the album. We have to post pictures that capture the spirit of travel with the following colors: blue, green, yellow, white, and red. This is such a fun contest and I love seeing the other entries! Time to plan the next trip!
Blue - "Olympic Spirit"
I was in Atlanta, GA in May and went for a walk at twilight. An announcement came on announcing that the show was about to start. Olympic Park had these wonderful fountains that most of the time are brimming with children laughing and playing. Everyone stopped for a moment to watch this beautiful water show complete with soundtrack.
Green - "Kudzu Monster"
I led a hike in the summer of 2009 to Laurel-Snow Pocket Wilderness in Dayton, TN. Unfortunately, there wasn't much water in the waterfall we had hiked 7 miles to see. On this lovely side trail to the coke oven, I took this shot of my friends. The kudzu covered everything and it felt like we had stepped into the Jurassic Period.
Yellow - "Reflection"
I took this picture in a very still pond during autumn. The trees you see are being reflected off the surface of the water. This picture was taken in the Old Stone Fort State Archaelogical Park in Manchester, TN.
White - "Icy Falls"
I love how the icy branches were framing Fall Creek Falls in this shot. It was extremely cold for Tennessee on this morning and the bottom of the falls were pure ice and snow.
Red - "Red Gate"
This picture was taken at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA. I was disappointed that the nearby construction marred a lot of the pictures, but I love the way the railing curved off in the distance connecting the two sides of the bay in color.
For my nominations, I would like to nominate Carrie Fay Amaro, Gavin Richardson, Ken Kaminesky, Andrew Marston, and Uncornered Market.
