We arrived in Atlanta, GA today for the ACS Technologies Ideas to Impact Conference. The administrative staff from my church attends this conference whenever it is close enough for our budget to allow. We have attended for the past two years (see blogs and photos from Louisville, KY and Cinncinnati, OH). It is a great conference for ideas and really wonderful software training. Yes, I realize not everyone is excited about software!
We stopped at Flip Burger Boutique for a very tasty dinner. I had a turkey burger with avocado, sprouts, and pomegranate ketchup. I also had to get another Nutella & Burnt Marshmallow shake. Their shakes have nitrogen in them, so you have to wait for the fog to stop before you can drink them. We also split some fries with smoky mayo and ketchup. Seriously, if you are in Atlanta, you have to try this place! My friend, Amanda, introduced me to them when I came to visit a year ago.
We checked in at the Omni Hotel and Convention Center, which is where we will be staying this week. The rooms are very nice, and the staff came by this evening while we were out to turn down our beds and put on relaxing music. We listened to our key note speaker, Greg Surratt from Seacoast Church. He was one of the first to start a multi-site church. His message was very good and was about guarding your heart and remembering these things: 1. God has chosen you. 2. God has a plan for you and is working out the problems before you even discover them. 3 God has guaranteed a future for you.
After the service we went for a walk in Olympic park. We had decided to just take a ten minute walk, but arrived at the fountains just before the fountain show. There were lots of kids playing in the water all afternoon, but they ask all of them to clear the area before the show. The fountain show included these songs: "Fly Me to the Moon" by Michael Buble, "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid, the theme from Chariots of Fire, and "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller. I think there was another song in there, but I can remember what it was. It was a beautiful evening and the lighting was really nice for a few photos.

Dean Lisenby Bethany, Thanks for attending the Ideas to Impact Conference. From looking at the About Us Page, I'm not sure we actually met but I hope you left with everything you came looking for. While not everyone gets excited about software, we do! Again, thanks for coming!
Bethany Hader Trust me, I get excited about software! I just realize that the other staff at my church are not as excited about software....yet! I'm about to show them the serving module in Access, so I think that's about to change! Thanks for all you do!
