Today was a day, similar to yesterday. Another sleep in followed by a yummy lunch. We then made our way (not very far as we are staying in Sultanahmet which is close to most attractions) to Topkapi Palace - which was constructed in 1478 and opened as a museum in 1924. It was used as an administrative center of the Ottoman Empire and the residence of the Sultans for 380 years. It was huge! With lovely courtyards, the 4th in particular overlooking the Bosphorus Sea. Very crowded given the holiday season. Another hot day and after walking around for a while, we headed back for a rest. Dinner was nice, enjoyed a Turkish Pide. There were so many places to eat, everyone trying to lure you in by offering you Turkish tea afterwards. Still waiting to have an amazing kebab, not sure if it can beat Berlin though, surprisingly! Not sure what will be on the agenda for tomorrow. Maybe a museum or two. Trying not to do too much as the ankle is still sore and bruised. Plus, we are on holidays. No need to cram everything in! Glad we decided to stay for a week instead of the initially intended 4 days. More time to enjoy this place :)
