Today we started with a really fantastic walking tour throughout Munich City centre with an American who has been living in Munich for 6 years. He gave some good hints, too good in fact of where to drink in Munich. And of course we remembered how to get back to them! An amazing place was the Hofbrauhaus - I can see why Munich is the beer drinking capital of the world! We were completely mesmerised by the beer (duh!), the giant pretzels, the German band and the Dirndl. After that we stopped for another beer, then went to the Hirschgarten for a drink under the chestnut trees, which is like a daily beer festival - very awesome! Lastly finishing at the gothic courtyard behind the Glockenspiel, the neo-Gothic architecture is rally amazing. We were going to go to the Olympic Museum but obviously got sidetracked. But this is what they do in Munich, only they go much harder...good lord!!! Australia play tonight at 11pm local time, we shall watch it despite how good sleep seems right now.
