Another tender port and hopefully our last. There are two more ports where there is a possibility of tendering, Tobago and St Kitts. We went down to Masquerade’s to collect our tender tickets but Rob and Linda had beaten us to it. We sat with them while waiting to be called. They’d been warned that it was at least an hour’s wait. In the event it was 80 minutes as, once again, one of the tenders broke down.
The last time we were here, we went to Otway Sound for the penguins. This time we just wandered around a bit. We had to visit a pharmacy for Rob but were redirected to a second store. After that we strolled down a street and decided to have lunch in a local cafe. We all had egg and chips. It was sooooo good! A local beer helped to wash it down. This place had the fastest Wi-Fi of anywhere we’ve been to so far. Then a visit to a supermarket before we looked for a bar. In the end we ended up in a large hotel overlooking the port with Aurora moored in front of us. There, Rob and I had a really strong Pisco Sour while the ladies had a fruity sour that is a local drink.
Another day of not doing much and really enjoying it. I will say one thing about Punta Arenas. It’s damned windy and non too warm even in mid summer!
The evening quiz in Champion’s was ‘70’s intros. Linda is red hot on music and scored 18. The winners scored 20. Only Linda, Barbara, Phil and I took part in the Syndicate Quiz and scored 13. The winners scored 16, I think. At one point we had no points on the board despite scoring 4. It was rectified, but the ents team’s ineptitude knows no bounds.
