Week four. Only 11 degrees first thing this morning, but where the sun was shining on the Promenade Deck, it was very warm. No wind and calm seas, which is a bit of a surprise, as this neck of the woods is famous for its gales. Lots of sea birds about.
We actually turned into the Straits at about 14:00. This means that the laundrettes are now out of use for the next few days, as they can't discharge 'grey' water until we enter the Pacific.
About the time we entered the straits, there were a lot of porpoises around us. They were black and white and some people thought they were penguins, but penguins don't have dorsal fins!
As we were playing deck quoits, we passed mainland Chile to the north and there were a lot of oil rigs about. Tierra del Fuego is to the south, but I'm still waiting to see that land. Out of the wind it was amazingly warm and very bright, of course my sunglasses were in the cabin.
We arrived in Punta Arenas at 22:00. Apparently we will move nearer the port in the morning. Which will be nice, as whenever the ship manoeuvres in port, my cabin rattles and creaks! It's also a tender port.
Men have pulled back a few points in BoS. I lost in the tie break of the Individual Quiz, to the guy that beat me last time! There was a sports quiz in Masquerades but with only two teams, left and right. Phil captained the right hand team and we won. As he was captain, he got a bottle of wine. So that's the full set for the next formal night. We were abysmal in the Syndicate Quiz, only just managing 10 points.
Early tour tomorrow.
