Woke up today by 10:00am! Good start! ;) went to draw out money from the ATM to pay our hotel for the week! Declined! Oh s***! We owed over $100 I'm not sure she'll let us wash dishes Instead :/
Annie had two attempts... Declined also! Oops! So we spent all morning stressing out, on the Internet trying to get money to pay our bill! Walking backwards and forwards to the ATM getting some odd looks from the locals... Kill me now !
Anyway we sorted it with about 10minutes to spare!!! Phew! Lied to the receptionist and told her we couldn't pay just too see what she'd say, she looked horrified!!!!... Only kidding! :D
The minivan was picking us up at 12:00 and then we got a coach at 12:30... Supposedly.... The minivan was an hour late and then the coach was a further hour! Cambodians must have learnt time keeping skills from the thai ;) It gave us time to sit and chill tbf and get some muesli and yogurt - Never again! Too much fruit too early in the day!
We were allocated seats on the coach this time... Right at the back! Thank god! Makes a change now I don't have to worry about my bag getting swiped by the chair behind!! So it was the first bus journey where I've actually been able to relax and go to sleep! It makes the journey so much better! It felt like only one hour and we were at our first service station!
A little cambodian girl who was supposed to be sat in front of us on the coach was pestering around us, she was totes adorbs!! I played 0's and X's with her, shared food with her annie attempted to draw her some pictures of houses, she couldn't understand what they were supposed to be... Neither could I! And then she plaited Annie's hair and gave us both neck massages! We couldn't get rid of her!
After another three hours of being tickled and played with like a rag doll we were in Phnom Penh! We first checked she hadn't mugged all my belongings! You can't trust anyone! The guesthouse we were staying at was called king house, our receptionist recommended then and arranged for them to pick us up from the station...
It was odd, as we left our last place and she waved us off (she's so cute like that) she made a point of saying if we didn't like the room we didn't have to stay... :/ weird! So I assume it's because there both owned by the same guy, she has to recommend it!!
We arrived and the reception was a bit like a garage door in the bottom of a block of flats... :| we asked to check the room, it was dark, the floor was dirty and complete with spiders and lots of cobwebs. The sink also doesn't drain it flows all over top onto the floor and to the drain in the corner :) just my type of room!!
But he'd picked us up for free and it was only $6 a night, plus, it was late so we agreed to stay one night only! Check out first thing in am! We went for a walk to go have dinner but there's nothing around for ages, and it all looks pretty scary!! So we headed back to the guesthouse for tea.
I asked for fried yellow noodles again, my favourite and can't go wrong!! He confirmed it, but brought me rice! Urgh! It had already taken him 30 minutes to do it so all we wanted to do was go to bed! I told him and he saidyes, yellow noodle... ...errr, well then what the hell is this you useless twit! Anyway, I'm starved and beggars can't be choosers!! Get me outta here!!! :/
