We wake, as we fell asleep, to the sloshing of waves 30m away on the beach. After a few Easter fireworks at 23:30 it was a very peaceful night. We are very relaxed. Yesterday we felt there would be nothing to do if we stayed, but this morning we turn it about and decide we could stay and do nothing. For the first time in two weeks we don't have to be up or be anywhere so we enjoy the lie in.
The Germans depart and the Austrians go out for the day leaving us space and quiet. After a leisurely breakfast we get out the maps, guide books and sat nav and work out options and mileages for the next couple of days. Ali rings a Fattore Amico we fancy for tomorrow, but being Easter Sunday they are closed but we have some other options.
Lunch is tomato and mozarella salad with a small beer and Ali goes for a walk on the beach.
The rest of the day becomes a much needed day of rest. Harald, the German Ali met yesterday comes for a chat, we catch up on news and sport reports and loaf about.
So in the end we got the standstill day we came here for and we're glad we didn't rush off as we felt like doing yesterday.

Chris How sensible you two are to have a lay-day ( as our Dutch friends say ). It came over in the narrative that you were feeling slightly frazzled and a little disappointed. No good pressing on and eating up the miles if it starts to become a route-March - it's a holiday !!! Enjoy, guys !!! We're with you. Easter weekend here has been dry warm and sunny. What's gone wrong ??? !!!! Xxxxxx
