The car park fills quickly from about 06:30. We are ready to leave at 10:00. No motorway today, just a 45 mile cross country ride from Alba to Cuneo, passing Bra and following roadwork diversions through Fossano. Ir's lovely lowland alpine scenery, tractors working fields, herds of cattle and alpine style buildings with overhanging roofs.
We drive through Cuneo's huge central square and down to the aire. 11:30 we arrive at our rendezvous and once again Mary*Lou and Margo are parked side by side.
It's a fantastic place to stop; free for 72 hours with free electricity. We get set up and sit out under the awning swapping stories of our travels with Nick and Grete and giving each other little souvenirs picked up along the way. It's good to have an afternoon to relax after nearly 600 miles over three days but we've all go so much to tell each other even though we have the next fortnight to do it.
Around the aire is a cycle/foot path through a wooded park where we go for an early evening walk.
It stays warm well into the evening and we have dinner of chicken and vegetables sitting out in the evening sun.
Around the park people are riding in-line skates, cycling, nordic walking with poles and playing football. The football continues under floodlights with final whistle at 23:30
