It's so refreshing to wake to the sounds of the countryside after weeks on sites. Beside us is a large meadow with wild flowers, butterflies and swallows.
Later in the morning we drive to Porec to find a Lidl or Plodine. N+G follow on the bike. After shopping we head into Porec centre but the motorhome parking is a bit far from the old town so we return to Jadruhi while N+G go to see the town.
This location is so lovely so we have a snack for lunch then go to the restaurant to use wifi. Sofia, the waitress brings our drinks then brings a plate of tiny cakes left over from yesterday's big lunch party.
Later we wander around this tiny hamlet. There are little vegetable patches and simple flower displays around the dozen or so houses.
In the evening we go to dinner, including British neighbours, Viv and Jan. There is no menu. Sofia explains the boss and his son hunt, and the wife forages in the woods for mushrooms and herbs, so there is different food each day.
Ali and Nick W assemble an order of seafood; scampi, cockles, mussels, scallops, squid and baby octopus. Others have steak or pasta, all with truffles and all washed down with home made wine, followed by the obligatory grappa and petit-fours. It's a fun evening swapping travel stories with our new friends.
We ask about buying their wine. We can but it comes in 1 litre plastic water bottles at 20 Kuna [£2.00] which we say suits us fine as won't break. After eating sumptuously and buying 2 bottles per couple the whole lot is £17/head.
As we return to the vans the sky twinkles with stars and aeroplane trails frame the bright moon.
