Beautiful, warm morning. We say goodbye to Viv and Jan and set off for another agri-tourism place near the old port of Rovinj. On the way we must pass Limski Canal, described in books as 'fjord-like', and they're not wrong. The road is a busy, two-way but very narrow with a lumpy rock face on our nearside and a strip of 'Armco-into-space on the other. The steep descent and sharp curves are limited to 25mph and the narrowness means nearly every car passes by as a 'near miss'. Coaches cut the apex and lorries don't come into the careful category, as we find out when Grete radios that they've just had their wing mirror broken by one. A short pause in a bus stop / layby has it taped up and we continue to Rovinj, where we find the olive farm. The co-ordinates and pictures match, but it appears to have stopped taking campers.
We stop in a roadside stall and ask if he knows anywhere but his directions take us to an FKK site. It's a 1000 place naturism camp so we suggest FKK is Fat Krinkly Krauts.
On the outskirts of Rovinj we park for lunch then N+G take the bike to investigate. They report back that there is motorhome parking and the town is worth seeing; a Tourist Info help them find a nearby mini camp so off we go and check in. The Owner is a friendly but bossy woman, who despite appearing never to have driven even a Lidl trolley, leads us through the middle of the small olive orchard, already full of vans and tents, with a series of vague hand-signals while constantly shouting 'No' to Nick's interpretation of her Croatian semaphore. The Dutch and Germans line up in a variety of stretched swimwear and gawp.
Nick W finishes his manoeuvres, jumps out and approaches them holding out his hat and offering tickets for our show.
Although it's pokey and has little in amenities, it's peaceful with a tiny beach which Ali, N+G use for a swim.
We have light pasta outside for dinner before watching a soft sunset with oily colours on a calm sea.
The day hasn't gone to plan, but aside from the outrageous high-season price it wasn't a disaster either, and it's only our second downer in six weeks so no-one is dwelling on it.
