Day 14. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Our day off turned out to be fairly busy, and involved about a 100miles of riding. It seems to be very difficult to do anything without getting on the bikes.
In the morning we headed off the Dukes of Hazard museum and cafe, owned by the actor who played Cooter, the mechanic in 'The Dukes'.
Then headed up to Skyline Drive for a waterfall walk. The 100 mile Skyline Drive is meant to be one of the best motorcycle roads in the US. However, it has a rather tedious 35mph speed limit, and the clouds meant that we couldn't see much of the view. It may be better on a sunny day, but didn't seem a patch on the roads in West Virginia.
Finally we headed back to cook our first campfire meal - spicy chicken and sweet potatoes, followed by toasted marshmallows. Motorcycle gloves make an excellent substitute for oven gloves!
