Day 62. Salt Lake City, Utah.
Day off in Salt Lake City, the home of the Mormans (also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). The main attraction is Temple Square, comprising various Mormon HQ buildings and surrounded by a 15ft wall. On the way there we noticed that most people (except for us) were dressed up in their Sunday best, and when we arrived at the Square it was packed with people from all nationalities. Turns out we had arrived at the same time as the General Conference - a biannual gathering of church members. There were plenty of missionaries around keen to explain to us what was going, and describe the basis for the Mormon religion - which we are still a bit confused about! After spending an hour or so looking around, we headed off to explore the rest of the city. However, almost everywhere in SLC closes on a Sunday so we were soon back at the hotel.
