Day 68. Red Bluff, California.
We left Lake Tahoe today - having decided that we had enough time to fit in another of the National Parks (Lassen Volcanic). The road there followed the Sierra Nevada mountains north, up Route 89. It was very quiet and we hardly saw a soul outside of the small towns on our route. It was also some of the best motorcycling that we've had for a while. On the way we also got the chance to break out the camping stove and grab a boil in the bag meal and coffee (the weather was noticeable warmer today). The park was more of the volcanic scenery that we have come to associate with Yellowstone - mud pots and steam vents.
From there we turned west to Red Bluff which was another interesting drive although into the sun, until it thankfully set. Having arrived we discovered that the Monster Trucks were in town. We have just returned from a truly American spectacle! Seeing them on TV is one thing but in real life is something else. We had front row seats too so were very close to the action.
