Monday (unlike Saturday) means the shops are open and we can buy food and cooking equipment.
The girls were going into town so we hitched a lift with them in their Wicked campervan. A distinctive rental van that has graffiti artwork on the outside and less artistic graffiti on the inside (done by the numerous people that used them to travel across Aus).
The inside of the van was basically a thin foam bed partly hidden by piles of clothes (comforting memories of student days). During the journey to town one of the girls knickers caught the wind and went out of the window. It's escape to freedom was accepted and we just carried on. Apparently they have lost lots of pairs in a similar way. Incidently I have got into and out of this van a few times, each time something drops out when you open the door.
After a functional afternoon, we headed back with growing anticipation on whether the knickers were still there. When we found that they weren't we then speculated on where and more interestingly who had them.
With great relief, plans were made not to go to Darwin - the girls invited us over to their neck of the woods to play cards.
The plans were a bit optimistic, we were feeling tired and the girls were almost asleep - tomorrow perhaps.
Don't know what is going on but there has been helicopters flying overhead for hours - it is scaring the poo out of the posums.
