Day 65 - Gili Trawangan
Would you believe that the sounds of prayers, cats and cockrells can be heard through ear plugs .. not to worry though we still managed a bit of a lie in compared to the last 2 days.
The beach around where we are staying has quite a lot of coral on it so we decided to take a wander to the north of the island to see if we can find a nice spot to have a lie down and dip our toes in the sea. We walk for about 20 mins and soon find a spot with a couple of other people dotted around and plonked oursleves down. The sun is really strong today and there isn't much of a breeze so it gets pretty toasty quite quickly so we head on into the sea. There isn't really much loose coral in this part of the sea and we find a nice little shallow bit to lie in and cool off.
After we'd been lay there a while we looked down into the sea and true to form I had fish flocking around me! They were only little ones so I didn't do my usual panic and try and run out of the sea as fast as possible instead we decided to give the camera a go underwater. The camera is designed to be used under water with no extra protection on it but I could see Si dreading the moment that it actually went under and asking me if its still working. Thankfully it kept working as it was supposed to and we got a couple of pics of our new fishy friends.
We decided to go to the restaurant just behind us for some dinner before heading back to our part of the island. By the time we got back to the main strip we both had sweat pouring off us and noticed a nice little sign outside one of the hotels/bars saying if we buy a drink from there we can use their pool :) Pretty much as soon as we'd got the drinks I was in the pool shortly followed by Si and we spent the rest of the afternoon doing silly things like the dirty dancing lift out of the pool.
The sun soon went in and after we washed the salt water/chlorine off we grabbed some tea and went back to the bar that does 70p local spirits and drank the night away.
