Woke up day two ready to head to Cabazon and the Desert Hills Premium Factory Outlets. Had a few problems with the GPS on the iPhone while trying navigate out of LA, I should have realised it was like Microsoft and rebooted it straight away and problem fixed. Time to buy a cheap one for here it think. Hit the LA freeways in the direction of palm springs. Driving on the freeways while getting accustomed to left hand drive is interesting. An hour and a half later we are at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets. Still great bargains to be had, levis $19.95, tag aqua racer calibre s $1220, formula1 $1100 etc etc. Karen and her mum got some great bargains. We were intending to stay at Morongo Indian Resort Casino but it was booked out so we headed into Palm Springs (only 18km away) and got two rooms in Hilton Hotel Palm Springs right next door to Spa Resort and Casino. As most US hotels have no concept of bar fridges off we go to Walmart to get esky and other basic necessities such as GPS, water, chippies, esky, beer and coke. Those emails you see flying around the internet called "People of Wallmart" are true. I have never seen such a mixed bag of strange people. Survival supplies, obtained back to the hotel we go, by this stage it is 111F or about 42C, bloody hot. Time for a few games of blackjack/pokies, a nice steak meal and early to bed. We have one more section of cabazon to do tommorrow then off towards Bakersfield. It is still 34C at 10PM.
