Today we spent the day at the fabulous Windsor Castle. It was amazing to think that there are still people who live in these massive places with all their servants etc. And it was even more amazing to think of all those who have previously lived within those massive walls. Where the moat used to be there are now the most beautiful gardens (a sign of how much times have changed). Other amazing sites were the Queen's doll house (the thing to get someone who has everything apparently!), the Chapel, and the State Apartments. The apartments were really something else, with amazingly ornate furnishings and historic pieces. We finished the day with bus tour of Windsor including a stop at Eton College and a stroll down the 'long walk' (though it must be said we actually only did half of the walk ha ha).
