LINDA'S TALES OF TRAVEL AND OTHER CATASTROPHES
We arrived yesterday in Paris to find that our luggage had not arrived with us - Doh! As British Airways had no idea what had happened to it we were left to head into Paris with only a small day pack....grrr
Part two of the drama is that our accommodation was no longer booked as apparently we hadn't called them to say we were arriving late early enough that day. As it was then 10pm at night we made a quick decision to just sleep in two different dorms in at two different locations (though run by the same people). Yes, very romantic! It really wasn't going to plan.
Anyway last night was still fun. We went and had pizza at a random French cafe (and a well deserved beer) and caught the end of the world cup. France was beating Brazil and we could hardly get the attention of the staff when we wanted to order ha ha. France held off Brazil and Paris went absolutely crazy. There were horns beeping all night and people literally hanging out of car windows and clinging onto bonnets! Crazy French drivers ;)
As for today, we didn't have time to worry about the luggage as all the museums in Paris are free on the first Sunday of every month and we weren't going to waste time! In one day we managed to see the Louvre (massive queue but absolutely worth it), Musee Dorsay, Musee Picasso and two other random little museums we stumbled upon. We definitely made the most of the day!
