Today a drive to Dots in Castlemaine. Without stops about 3 hours. Most of the roads here are so straight and empty that driving becomes a bit boring and you can feel your eyes going. I'm sure they took their road building plan from the Romans. Very straight roads. Been through a town (village) today where instead of having a war memorial they have part of a road. Honour Avenue lined with Oaks, with little cross markers every couple of feet with the name of the person who's died. A much better way I think. Arrived at Dots and was served a hearty tea. Chicken, roast pots and pumpkin, bread sauce and gravy. Mmmm. We were all knackered and went to bed early.
