I really really really dislike this place and never ever want to return!! Been here for 2 night and can't wait to go to Singapore tomorrow! Patong is just wrong on so many levels!! Firstly we struggled to find a local restaurant as they are all selling American or English food, the wi fi in the restaurants and hostel isn't even free, the whole place is crawling with lady boys and old Western men with young Thai girls and everything is overpriced for some bizarre reason! The whole place in general looks like the beach from Benidorm on TV!! I really do not understand why there are so many English people here! They seriously should have saved themselves 10 hours on a plane and just gone to Spain instead, it's exactly the same!!

Today just went from bad to worse - I decided to check out of the hostel as thought it was expensive for what it was, but looks around loads of places in the baking sun, only to find everywhere else was even more expensive, and when I got back to the original hostel they had sold my bed, so had to stay in a smaller dorm which was even dearer than last night!! Then Vicki realized that her bank card had been stolen and loads of money had been taken from her account!!

Anyway, rant over! Just booked mine and Vicki's flights to Singapore for tomorrow's day trip so things are looking up! :)
