I knew Bangkok was going to be funny when the 'bus hostess' turned out to be a lady boy! That set the place up already and that was just me getting on the bus!! Slept like a baby, again, even though the bus had a tyre blow out and stopped for ages, or so I was told the next day!
We all got in a cute pink taxi and headed straight for the Koh San Road at I think was about 7am. We lugged our rucksacks round a few cheap guesthouses on the road but they are looked like prison cell! We eventually found one which was the least prison like, but I still called it our cell! I took a few pics but they don't do the room any justice as it looks OK in them! The walls were actually made of laminated flooring with holes in them, covered over by hanging paper! The room just about fit in a double bed with hardly any other space in the whole room! It even had a sign on the door saying not to leave your belongings in the room! Oh well, we were only here for 1 night and it was cheap, what can I say….
We dropped off our bags and headed straight for the clothes!! Bangkok is amazing for shopping, but all the clothes are so small! Still, I went a bit mad and I shopped all day! Bought so much stuff - tops and pretty dresses, I was in my element!! Bangkok is so good for shopping, I've got to come back to this place for the shopping along! You can literally get anything here, even saw a stall selling degrees, driving license, literally anything!!
At night, we all got drunk, but as we didn't know where to go and It's such a big City, we just stuck to the Koh San Road. Everything was pretty expensive but we still had a good time, and so did Ronald too! Hahah We took a tuk tuk to a club as this guy said it was really good, but the entry fee was more than we even had on us so got straight back in the tuk tuk and came back!
Today I shopped even more and bought even more dresses!! Seriously love shopping!! I'm trying to save them for when I get to Australia as they are a bit dressy for Thailand I think….
Leaving in a bit for Phuket - my first Thailand island! So excited, as wanted to go to the islands for so many years, but never went due to loads of reasons!! So glad that I'm finally doing this and had the guts to leave everything and everyone behind and go travelling!
