Just got back from a day trip to Singapore with Vic, which was so much fun, as you do! The actual reason for going was to get us another 30 days in Thailand. As I entered Thailand overland, it only entitled to me 15 days, but I know I want to stay here for longer than 15 days, so I just had to go to Singapore! Haha
We both put on our new dresses that we had bought from Bangkok and looked very classy - thought we would make an effort! The flight was really early, so luckily I flew asleep on the way to Singapore. The airport is massive! We played around with the perfumes for a while then the passport officers said to us "are you two sisters, as you smell the same?"!! Think we pulled! We then picked up a tourist guide and read about Marina Bay so decided to head there on the underground. We had to figure it all out, luckily we were together so 2 brains are better than 1! We actually got on really well, surprisingly. It just goes to show that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. We got off the tube and it was baking hot! The locals were using umbrellas as shade which I thought was funny! I'm used to using an umbrella for the rain! It was such a change of scenery compared to the likes of Cambodia and Laos, what I've been used to for the past few months! Everything around me was big and tall and shiny and so developed! Marina Bay itself was lovely and to top it off we just happened to stumble across a massive shopping mall! Perfect!! The mall was absolutely massive, even had a casino in it and a river feature!! Don't get that at the Highcross! Haha The shops were well out of my budget as loads of them were designer, but we had lunch in a huge food court downstairs. Was so weird, as on the plane journey I had just said to Vic that I really fancied a smoked salmon salad, and guess what we found, smoked salmon! Yummy. I got a bit happy snappy and took about a million pictures, mainly of me practicing my new poses!! Haha When in Singapore n all!
Back at the hostel in Phuket now, but luckily leaving tomorrow for Ko Phi Phi, which will be my first proper Thailand island (no way am I even counting Phuket an island)
