We went to the Victoria and Albert Museum on Saturday. It is one of favourite museums if not my most favourite museum. There are lots of fine arts, sculptures, paintings, photographs and continent specific exhibition. My favourite exhibition is the statue of David. I was able to see the real one with my mum in Florence, Italy in 2007. I haven't been there in ages. This weekend Daniel and I went to the V&A. I found a quiet spot to sit and sketched the statue of David. Daniel had the opportunity to walk around and find things to take photos of as he wants to learn more about photography and all the different settings on his camera. It was so lovely and peaceful; I definitely would want to go back. Most of the photos included in the journal are from there. We had scones and tea at the museums café. It was in a typically old English room and after a little while someone was playing a piano. Very posh as the people will say here.
We got the tube to Baker Street and walked through Regents Park - the park is huge. We walked through the park looking for Primrose Hill as there is a lovely view from the top of the hill. We walked and walked and walked got to the zoo but it was closing in an hour's time so it was a choice between turning back and finding this hill. Eventually we realized after walking through he whole park the hill is actually not part of the park but is next to it. We got to the top of the hill and the sun was shining. The view was worth all the walking you can see St Pauls, the London Eye and all the other landmarks. Daniel took some photos of the view maybe in the summer we will go back for a picnic.
Oh I forgot to mention while I was drawing the statue of David loads of people where taking photos of me sketching I didn't realise that Daniel told me when he came down from the gallery if only they knew what an amateur I really am.
Hope you all enjoy the photos.
