Happy new Year eeeeeek!

NYE our little family got together (Simon, Helen, Danny, Chris, Scott) plus Danny's mate Scott M and the one and only LESLEY (my wee bestie arrived from Melbourne wooooo!) and headed off to get a place for the fireworks. The buses were getting shut off at 4pm, the majority of our hostel had left at 11am to secure a spot to watch the fireworks but we had booked the 3am boat party, we didn't want to be out all day and night!

We managed to get taxis into town, got off at the harbour and found a little patch of grass near toilets, lots of people were already set up. Tents, eskies, food, alcohol.... Was such a good atmosphere! First set of fireworks went off at 9pm and the official ones went off at midnight...... It was so amazing! I've got a video of it that I will try and upload....

From there we wandered off round to the boat party which wasn't as much of a wait as we thought. We were just starting to feel tired when we boarded but then we heard the tunes and it just went off haha. Without a doubt one of the best boat parties ever! Cruising around Darling Harbour at sunrise on NY morning.... Priceless! Everyone partied on the beach after but I went to bed so Helen and I missed our other boat party!

On the 2nd it was my besties last night - Scott and Chris. Scott was flying to Darwin for work and Chris was flying to Thailand, so we had a night out in Bondi! a lovely bar near our hostel called Ravesi's then the Bondi hotel.

The 3rd, Danny and myself went to see The Lion King at the theatre in Sydney CBD. It was so so Good and the theatre was beautiful.

Saturday the 4th was our last weekend in Sydney..... The group got together and had dinner in Darling Harbour then went off to backpacker bar Scary Canary then PACHA in the beautiful Ivy nightclub (apparently it has a hot tub or pool but I didn't see it!). Will Sparks was playing, there were Pacha dancers, drinks were in full flow..... Such a good night! Pacha Sydney I LOVE YOU!

I waved off Chris and said goodbye to Simon. Two of the nicest guys I've met, both I met right at the start in Ozintro, cried my eyes out saying bye to Simon. It really is the people who make this trip what it is. I hope it's see you soon and not goodbye :( xx

Now I am sitting on a coach heading to THE EAST COAST! I went into Peter Pans in Bondi (superb staff, great help) and got a quote for travelling from Brisbane to Cairns with Helen and Danny. So here I am!

Flew to Brisbane yesterday - flight was delayed due to weather conditions - stayed in base uptown and on a coach to NOOSA now. Plans are as follows:

7th-9th Noosa - including the Everglades tour on the 8th

9th-13th Rainbow Beach - do the Fraser Island 4WD camping trip 10th-12th

13th-18th 1770 - including Castaway trip 15th-17th

19th-24th Airlie Beach - then do the Whitsunday sailing trip 21-23rd

24th-27th Magnetic Island

27th Wild Water Rafting trip

27th-3rd Feb Cairns including diving on the reef, cape Tribulation trip and Tablelands waterfall trip!

Then after that I'll need to pinch myself to make sure it wasn't just a dream!
