Back on the road again after an extremely quick 2 nights in Noosa.
We arrived on Tuesday the 7th and thankfully our hostel Nomads done transfers from the bus station with their wee shuttle bus so lift to the hostel! Although tbh it's only a 10 minute walk....
We had a very chilled 1st night, got some shopping in made use of the kitchen facilities to try and save some money (although it wasn't the best or cleanest kitchen I've been in and Helens food bags got stolen!). We were up early the next day for the Everglades tour.
We booked Everglades through Peter Pans (along with all the rest of the trips) and this tour was through a company called the Discovery Group. We got picked up at the hostel at 8.30am and taken to the jetty.
We jumped on a little boat with a group of people (quite a few older, Australians too) and headed up the Noosa river. We passed a resort that Richard Branson owns - $24,000 a night to stay there! Ridiculous scenes!
It wasn't a scorching day, quite a bit of overcast but probably just as well since my sunburns still pretty obscene from Bondi. We stopped for "morning tea" - I ate about 6 cakes - then we got into Classic Canadian canoes (myself, Helen and Danny got in one together) and paddled upstream through the river. It was about 5km to the spot we were having lunch so we decided we wanted to beat everyone haha and we did! Yay! The whole river was so beautiful, very tranquil and relaxing - except from Helen singing Disney sings at full pelt haha actual hilarious - and I was terrified at first and wore a life jacket the whole way - majorly concerned about capsizing. It was all good though!
We stopped for an awesome BBQ lunch - there was steak/fish/sausages with salads and bread.
You could paddle back down the river but we decided not to as the race on the way up had tired us right out (haha) so we relaxed aka fell asleep, on the boat heading back.
Highly recommend this tour! The tour guide was really lovely and the whole day was such a good experience.
When we got back we headed down to see Noosa's Main beach. It still wasn't spectacular weather and it was so busy due to school holidays but it was still very pretty :)
We had another chilled night in prep for more travels today; now en route to Rainbow Beach for a night then the largest sand island in the world tomorrow..... FRASER ISLAND! I have waited on this day for AGES!
