If I were a country I would be Switzerland. I belong here. They're such a clean country, I like things clean. Everything has its place, I like things in their place. They make the best chocolate, I'm the best at eating chocolate. We go hand in hand. You can never get sick of driving through Switzerland either. It is so beautiful, the lakes are so blue and the grass so green, it is picture perfect. There are cute little Swiss flags everywhere and they're such proud people, because they have so much to be proud of. I wish I was Switzerland. It is my favourite country to date.
We arrived in Lauterbrunnen just after 6:30, and we were such keen beans to be back in Switzerland after being to Bern. Lauterbrunnen is tiny. The entire town is one street but it is so perfect. It's located basically smack bang in the middle of the alps, the air is so so fresh and there are waterfalls everywhere coming off the mountains, I just love it so much. I would love a little log cabin in Switzerland to holiday in while its winter and just hang out by the open fire place all rugged up while snow falls around the house. It was so perfect! And peaceful!! All you can hear is cow bells ringing in the fields, mixed with waterfalls. The air smells like an open fire, but it is still so fresh. I want to bottle it and take it home. The air in Australia is so crap compare to Switzerland air!! Everything in Australia is crap compared to Switzerland!! I wish we could swap Australia and Switzerland and Switzerland could become Australia because I like living in Australia, but I wish it was Switzerland. Anyway, Switzerland is amazing. When we got to Laurerbrunnen we were pretty pooped. We had dinner at the restaurant on the campsite and headed back to our adorable little wooden cabin with little planter boxes with red and white flowers all around the windows. There was a little kitchen so we could cook. It was so cute!!! Although we were wrecked, we just ended up sitting up in the cabin all night drinking red wine and getting crunk before going to bed.
As much as I love Lauterbrunnen, there's not a heap to do unless you're rich. So, we spent our first day just kicking back and not doing things because we're not rich. I would've loved to have gone up to the snow on the alps but we will just have to save it for next time.
We headed down to the little cafe with free wifi and wified for a little while before heading to the supermarket to buy things to cook for dinner. Afterwards we headed back into the town, and Brendy booked his paragliding for the next day!! He was so excited, it was so cute :). After that, we headed up the mountainy hike trail just behind the campsite which takes you up behind one of the big waterfalls. There were free hiking sticks to use in a big bucket at the trail entry and we excitedly grabbed some, because we've always wanted to use some. It didn't take us too long to get up because we're shredded, and we walked through a big tunnel before getting up behind the waterfall. It was amazing! You could see out over Lauterbrunnen, with all this water falling in front of you, it's incredible. While we were standing up at the end of the path, we didn't really realize that the wind had changed and was blowing the water towards the exit. We realized when we got to the exit, and then had to walk basically through the waterfall to get out. We got drenched!! It was so uncomfortable. Especially in jeans. Luckily, the waterfall is right by the campsite, so we headed back to get changed. We had lunch at the campsite restaurant and then walked about to check it out. Brendan wanted to find sports and he failed. We found goats and a playground instead. Super exciting stuff. I swung on the swing and then I went down the slide. That slide is not child friendly! I got throw around and projected out at the bottom and fell on my ass. It was pretty hilarious. Also, the slide was wet, so I walked awkwardly back to our cabin to change again! We had a bit of a rest before going for a walk through the fields. We saw lots of cows ringing their bells while they ate it was so cute. We also got to see a few base jumpers practicing for a bit tournament that was coming up. It was so cool!! They just appear out of the sky from no where! We were so amazed. After watching that for a while, we headed back to the cabin and were excited to cook dinner. We made sausages with a salad and downed it so fast. Then we sat up and ended up getting drunk again trying to finish a bottle of vodka so we didn't have to carry it.
The next morning we took it easy and didn't do much because brendy was paragliding later on in the day. We walked down to the free wifi cafe and had a bit of a Skype sesh before chilling out for a bit. We headed down to the supermarket again and bought hamburgers to cook for lunch. It's not what we were aiming for but it closed while we were in there, and these weird curtain things came down over the meat while we were browsing and I panicked. Anyway, after lunch it was go time for Brendy. I headed to the landing area to watch him and had my stuffed Switzerland moo cow to keep me company. I had to wait forever and the guy told me to look for a red, blue and white parachute. That day was very popular amongst the paragliders with red, blue and white parachutes so I took photos of random people. I also watched the base jumpers again to kill time then I saw Brendy's shoes in the sky!! Hooray!! It was exciting and he was so pumped when he landed and was doing his brendy woo that he does. They dropped us back at the wifi cafe so we chilled there for a bit with the other two randoms that did the paragliding. One guy was like 60 and the other guy was really odd. We headed back to the campsite and went to the restaurant again because we're regulars now. We didn't get drunk again, instead we had to clean up all of our drunken mess to prepare for heading to Munich!!!
