Vienna is beautiful!! I love it there. Everything is so perfect and all the buildings are so detailed and fancy. There are horses and carriages that roam around the city and it looks like a fairytale.
Our bus arrived into Vienna at 5 and we had booked a walking tour for 6 that night. We had to rush to our hotel from the bus which took us half an hour. We were panting and sweating like animals when we got to the desk to check in and we were offered a welcome drink for the first time ever and couldn't take it because we had to run back to where the bus dropped us off. Literally. We ran through the streets of Vienna trying to get back within 20 minutes. We made it with 1 minutes to spare. We earned our schnitzel for the night.
Our tour guides name was Walter. Walter was a strange man. He didn't wear his coat properly and just ha it hanging over his shoulders like a cape which irritated me a fair bit. Why aren't your arms in your sleeves Walter? Why? Other than that minor detail, I liked Walter. He made a lot of inappropriate jokes, that you weren't really sure were jokes and then by the time you thought about it, he was 50 meters up the road. Come back Walter. I tried Sturm, which is a half fermented wine. Yum yum yum. We walked past the big opera house and saw people having picnics outside in front of a big screen they have on the outside which plays the opera on the inside. Vienna is cool like that. There was a photographer following us around too to take photos for the website. It was so awkward. We went to a lot of other sites and finished it at the Parliament House before heading to the restaurant where Walter gets his schnitzel. It was huge! And so good! I was in love and then I ate my love so we could be as one. We chilled for a little with the rest of the busabout crew that did the tour with us and then made our way back to our hostel. This time we got to walk at a normal pace. That was nice.
The next morning we woke up and had a Skype sesh with the fam. Nikki and Trini went to my house so I got to say hi to them which was one of the most excited moments of my life. I got to see Nikki's face and we touched virtually which will sadly have to do for another 5 weeks. Brendan hung up on us because I wouldn't stop waving and saying bye and trying to touch Nikki, and we headed off to check out the food market.
After eating kebabs, we had more Sturm and then decided to search out any English speaking cinemas on account of it pissing down rain. There was an IMAX near where we were staying, so we decided to try there. We failed. It was closed and they only show one English movie a week. We found a Maccas to steal wifi and the search was in. Turn out there are two big ones in Vienna and a heap of smaller ones. We were like woohoo! We had a bit of time to kill before the movie so we did what we usually do, and went to a bar for a drink. We sat by the fish tank and I named them all. There was Jim, who looked like he was about to die, because he was too close to the too and couldn't move. Then there was mr. Yellow fish. He was yellow and moved his mouth a lot which made it look like he was singing along to Enrique and Pitbull. He also tried to nibble on Jims tail. Jim was like mate I'm not even dead yet as you already want to eat my tail just let me go in peace. Then there was fish tank Mick who was the tank bully. He swam around head butting all the other fish and threatened to shove his fun up their ass if they didn't do what he said. They were the three stand out fish of the tank anyway.
Then, it was movie time!! We were so excited. The doors opened and we headed down the stairs breathing in that popcorn air. It was so good. We saw the internship and were the only two in the cinema. It was so good! And it was English!! It put us in such a good mood. Then we had to head back to our hostel for an extra early night to be up at 5:00 because Brendan said so to catch our flight to Athens!!!
