Despite Katrina's warnings, I loved Avignon!! I know Trini will disown me a little, but Nikki will love me more (if that's even possible) for saying it, but I had such a good time in Avignon! It is so cute and there's a carrousel in the middle of the town! It's adorable. :)
When the bus dropped us off, we went and got lunch at a little bakery near the drop off point. Afterwards, we hopped on a bus that we thought would take us into Avignon as that's where we were staying, and the drop off point is outside of Avignon. So we jumped on the bus all ready to go and we were told to get off the bus at the tourism office stop, so we did that. When we got off the bus, the tourism office was closed, but there was a big map and the name of the street we were staying in was on it so we headed that way. When we reached it, we realized it looked a little familiar because that's where we had lunch. So, we were like wtf we're idiots. Then we walked up and down the street a thousand times trying to find a hotel that didn't exist, because as we found out, there are two streets named the exact same thing near tourist offices, one outside of Avignon and one inside. Eventually we made it to the right place and the right hotel. That was nice.
We walked around Avignon for a little bit and then went to an Irish pub we saw on the way in and had a bit to drink. We both got a little intoxicated, Brendy a little more so than me, so now there's videos of drunk Brendy getting his nipples out on Facebook, which is what Brendy likes to do. We moved from the Irish pub to a restaurant next door and had some badass food, before stumbling back to the hotel.
On our only full day in Avignon, we woke up in the morning and had our first French croissants!! I was so excited and they did not let us down. We explored Avignon and saw the half built bridge just outside the walls, and then had a bit of a look in the shops and Brendy bought a cute shirt.
There wasn't much else to do in Avignon, other than walk around and check it out which is what we did. We saw a drunk guy drop his hat in the middle of the road and then when he tried to put it on his head he put it on his shoulder instead and he couldn't work out what went wrong. That was pretty funny.
We managed to make our way back to the drop off/pick up point pretty easily as we were quite familiar with it after visiting it twice. We said Au Revior to Avignon, and were pretty excited because our next stop is Barcelona!!!
