Checked into Gilligans Hostel or holiday resort as it appears, 4 floors, huge nightclub, swimming pool and a free meal when you buy a drink.

Cairns is a must stop destination for travelers to reach the Great Barrier Reef and the rain forests, however in cairns itself there isn't much to do.

So with the weather looking a bit cloudy what else would Char and Matt find to do apart from look stupid riding a tandem bike?! As people drove past they could not help but look back and laugh.

Not only did we look stupid riding across 6 lanes of traffic, but the chains came off so we had to get off and walk! Who knew putting chains back on a tandem bike could be so tricky....

After a 3 hour ride, we were in fitness mode and decided to take up a free circuit class at the lagoon. It was clear that we hadn't done any intense exercise for 3 months when we had to have a lie down when we got back and not get up until the morning!
