...... We remembered it was Valentines Day about 5pm!

Refraining from making this blog about the weather.... it is bloody hot! Not humid fortunately. However, Char is getting slightly worried that after a week she doesn't have a tan, there is nowhere to sunbathe.... the kids like the shade!

First thought of the day...6am.... those 8 cockerals are synchronised and to the millisecond, alongside the children, everyone on the farm was in full swing. It was a busy day today as the government were coming. Swiftly, we got up and at it, joining the kids, who were patiently waiting for the important visitors. Security guards surrounded us. When the officials arrives, they handed out bread and water, even to the Char and Matt Charity (We felt bad taking this but they were very persistent so we just placed it to one side.) Dr Vyrak and the Governor gave a speech, none of which we understood! Mr Va then told us they were speaking about US and the volunteering scheme. The next thing we knew, the Governor was speaking to us and a camera in our faces labelled CNC (Cambodia's National News Channel). The most interestng watch the channel will see all year, two glum, pasty English people, looking very confused, trying to lip sync every letter said and trying to understand the topic of conversation.

When the film crew had vacated our personal space, it suddenly dawned on us....the bread was FOR BREAKFAST!! Luckily still in arms reach, we pulled it back into attendance and nibbled away. Once they had left, we helped to hand out 2x noodle packets, 1 can of pop and 10,000 riel ($2.5) to each child. It turns out the Governor is retiring and has decided to support Samrong with part of his retirement fund.

Feeling very unproductive, we felt we better go and rope ourselves into working on the farm. We were told to start tomorrow by Mr Rattana. The rest of the day was spend wandering around, socialising with the kids and playing football and volleyball. Tomorrow we MUST do something more productive!
