First job of the day.... Find a Canadian Bank (Free to withdraw money). Again with the Lonely Planet in hand and facing the manic roads, we found ourselves following the footsteps of an 8 year old girl! At the time, it seemed like the best way to get across 8 lanes of traffic (She seemed to know how this should be done!). After a 40 minute walk, the bank wasn't either free, costing us $8 to withdraw.
Having had enough of the city, we decided to head to the orphange which was 40minutes out of town. The bumpiest, sandiest, dustiest, but strangely quite enjoyable ride of our lives!! (See Video!)
Arriving at Samrong around 1pm, we were greeted by Mr Va who showed us around before treating us to some noodle soup. (Basically supernoodles with less flavour and too much water.) Our current location - 40minutes from civilisation, wit no running water, living off the land. It sounds quite daunting, but this is just what we needed after the city stays. There's everything you need in this self-sustainable haven.
At this point, everything is very vague, we blame ourselves for not being able to get used to this relaxed lifestyle, we are used to routine! Students on the farm Picko and Mr Meng kindly gave us some insight upon arrival. Within the first hour, Matt was giving a uitar lesson to Mr Meng and Char was helping to collect water from the stream.
In the evening we helped to hand out tea and then had our own in the kitchen, now named.... ''Rats Galore!' This is an ongoing issue and we MUST co-habit! Mr Va discussed what he had instore for us....again very vague. This is not good for the 'Must know, need to know' type of people we are! But hey let's give it a go! Shortly after.... we had a plan of our own.... Char to teach the beginners and intermediate and Matt to take the advanced class.
After chatting with the children we headed to bed... the most comfortable bed (with mosquito net) we had clapped eyes on all week.

Vic This is just the tonic I need today! Reading about your adventures transports me to a land far away from my work desk. You'll soon settle in to the 'manjana' lifestyle. Sending lots of love V, S and M xxx
