OK I know we have been a bit smug about the warm dry weather but I think it might be pay back time. It started raining yesterday evening and hasn't stopped since. We have just had an almighty thunderstorm and now it's just wind and rain but it's not cold!
It briefly stopped raining this morning so we had a pleasant run along the river before we left. We might have appreciated the scenery a bit more as we drove north if the weather had been better. Still it's a good job we weren't on a 3 day walking trail. We walked around Napier in the rain and it has some lovely buildings all with sun or rain awnings and it looks like an attractive city with its long tree lined promenade and beautiful Art Deco buildings.
We arrived at the campsite just as the thunderstorm started and apart from getting the electricity hooked up we have not ventured outside, although I believe we could have a sea view. We have always used the site kitchens for cooking but tonight we have cooked inside.
The problem is we haven't got a bathroom!
Not a good day for Chinese wedding shoots.....
We are now in the midst of the wine region and cycling wine tours are a popular option but the weather forecast doesn't favour any cycling so it could just be wine.
