We set off early on our walk in the Abel Tasman National Park. The park has beautiful golden beaches and turquoise waters but it wasn't until late morning when the sun appeared that the colours were seen at their best. The serious walkers on the path were trekking for 3 or 4 days and carrying all their kit on their backs . There are camping huts on the route but they don't provide cooking essentials or bedding. We had a few stops on the lovely beaches where we were the only visitors apart from the gulls, on the return trip we stopped for a swim but the water was very cold. Our last swim in the sea was in North Queensland and this was a bit different, so it was just a quick dip (for her ladyship!)
We moved on to Kaiteriteri a resort where we hired a kayak for a paddle around the bay it was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon and decided to move on up to Nelson. We are staying just outside the city and it's a very nice site but there are people that live permanently on some sites so it does't feel like a holiday park, but there is a bike route around the coast that is suppose to be good so we have got some bikes for tomorrow.
