I needed to go for a run this morning, so left Graham behind. Chicago really is a city with everything, just north of our hotel is another lovey beach and a lakeside trail which leads up to Lincoln Park. The trail was full of runners this morning all on a long run in preparation for Chicago Marathon in three weeks.
We had decided to go on an architectural boat cruise this morning. Several people had recommended it, so we booked a trip through the hotel concierge for 10am. It was a glorious morning and the cruise was most fascinating and informative. After the cruise we walked on to Navy Pier a recreational pier with a large Ferris wheel, theatre exhibition centre and also some lovely views over the city and out across the lake.
After lunch Graham found his first geocache in Chicago ( just been too busy!). We wandered back to the team hotel where we thought the team managers had the Aquathon finishers medals which were not available straight after the race. However Graham had misread the information and the medals were there yesterday.
We bussed back up the Magnificent Mile and visited Hershay's chocolate shop and the supermarket before returning to our hotel. A steak dinner to celebrate our successful trip to Chicago ended another busy day.
