It was back to reality, I went to find the laundry and go to the supermarket whilst Graham went to another team briefing. I love American washing machines they are so quick and cheap! Going to the supermarket is a little more interesting than going to Waitrose, you pass Bloomingdales and Louis Vuitton on the way. I also passed a couple of Argo Tea cafes. We stopped for a delicious fruity iced tea in New York Argo Tea Cafe near Central Park but apparently the company was started here in Chicago a few years ago. They have an incredible choice of flavours, I think they should come to England they would make a nice change from all the coffee shops.

By the time Graham got back the washing, ironing and shopping was done. Our plan was to do some touristy things today and then watch the elite ladies at 5pm, however all the schedules were changed as a storm is forecast for the afternoon so the schedules were brought forward and the elite ladies race was now at 1pm.
We walked back to the centre along the shoreline, which was very pleasant today as a thunderstorm in the night had cleared the air and it was cooler and fresher. We arrived by the start just in time and got a good lakeside view of the swim and then saw our GB girls Non Standford and Vicky Holland doing exceedingly well getting 2nd and 3rd. Gwen Jorgensen was incredible as she just pulled ahead on the last lap with such ease and was a deserving World Champion.

So that was the afternoon gone and it was now looking very stormy and dark, the stands at the triathlon expo were packing up. Everyone seemed to be heading off home before the storm. By the time we got back to the hotel there were warnings of tornados and flooding, however we only had a small amount of rain so I think we missed the big storm.

Graham has an early start tomorrow as the bike racking today was cancelled because of the impending storm. So it was a quiet night in before the last triathlon day, Graham going off at 11.35, the elite men at 5pm and then closing ceremony.
