We wanted to see Central Park by bike so opted for a guided tour which we booked for 10am, so it was an early start as it was quite a long trip on the subway. To our amazement the train was full, this was Sunday where was everyone going? These people weren't tourists, some were wearing suits and looking like they were off to work. Although there seems to be plenty of churches around, Sunday does not seem to be a day of rest, shops are open the usual long hour...

We opted for open windows instead of noisy air con, but I was never going to get a good night's sleep as the biological clock wanted me up at 3 am and with noise of the traffic and passers by didn't help. However it was another bright sunny morning but the forecast was for thunderstorms so we packed our waterproofs.We decided to explore southern Manhattan today. Taking the subway to near Brooklyn Bridge where there were some great views across the river....
