We woke to see that overnight there had been a dusting of snow on the mountain tops!An early start today as we are travelling 250km down the iconic Icefields Parkway. This is the most scenic drive in Canada and there are several must see sights on the way so it is a day's trip. Unfortunately the weather seems to have taken a turn for the worse it's very cold and lots of low cloud and rain. We stop at at a couple of scenic waterfalls and the rain dries up....

The weather is a bit overcast and rain is forecast but we start our morning with a 6 mile circumnavigation of Jasper running along the heritage trail. Hinton was OK ,we did a run, some geocaches and I think it was our cheapest hotel and we got breakfast. The scenery out of Hinton got more dramatic as we approached the Rockies. We decided to go up to Miette hot springs, but being bank holiday weekend they were very crowded and abandoned the idea , so we went off on a walk which kept taking us higher and higher through forests, ideal territory for bears we thought but no bears were seen and we never got to anywh...

Just for a change we are off to Hawrelak Park to see a triathlon, but today sees the elite ladies. I had my last swim in the lovely pool and packed our bags and picked up a hire car from the hotel car park. The person in Avis saw all our luggage and got us a suitable car. He thought we had a lot luggage, I assumed he would have been used to people travelling with bikes. We negotiated our way to the park and eventually found the car park next to the free shuttle. ...

Oh no Graham has woken up with a cold on the most important event day of the year ! There was still things to do this morning everything double checked numbers to be stuck on , I still went for my swim.
