Woke up with a little bit of a hangover, but not too bad. Didn't wake up that late either, it was around 9.30am.
We got ourselves ready and met Mel and Paolo in a place called Patagonia Chocolate Bar. Had a coffee in there to perk us up a bit. I am not kidding, I was still full from yesterday's FergBurger. I had no breakfast.
Craig met us at Patagonia's, then we all walked up to the Gondola. Me, Paolo and Craig went up but Therese and Mel didn't feel like doing it. It was quite pricey actually, $25 (£12.50) just for the gondola. But we decided to get the gondola and luge package for $38 (£19).
The views from the top were incredible. It doesn't even look as though it goes all that high, but it does. We could see much more of the lake and lots of different mountain ranges including the
Remarkables, which is in the Lord of the Rings.
Stunning scenery.
Then it was time for a bit of adventure...luging. We sat in our little plastic go kart type things and raced down the 'scenic' track! I didn't see scenery, I was focussed and racing against Paolo. I Nearly flipped it on the first chicane though!
It was good fun racing down, although Craig didn't finish for about a minute after us. Reckons he got held up by some chinese family. We got the package with 2 rides, so then we had a go on the 'advanced' route. That was quality, but dangerous. There were big drops that suddenly came up, and with me not using the brakes most of the time, I'm sure I was getting some airtime! I won this time thanks to some excellent overtaking skills and a keen eye for the racing line...Craig reckons he got held up again when he eventually reached the finish line...
We made our way back down on the gondola and went for lunch at Cafe 111. Me and Craig got the tiniest little baked potato each I've ever seen. We waited ages for it as well and expected a big spud to be served.
We split up because I had a few things to do like get our photos backed up onto DVD, then I went to find Therese and Mel, who were, surprise surprise, sat in the Patagonia's again. That place has the worst free WiFi ever by the way.
We had an early tea at about 4.30pm - Roast Sunday dinner in Pog Mahones. It wasn't too bad actually. It was a bit like being at home in England with the rugby on as well.
We went to relax in the hostel for a bit, then went back out for a free BBQ in Revolver with the rest of our Stray bus group, plus another Stray bus. It didn't get served until about 8.30pm, so really glad we had that Sunday Roast. Plus the BBQ was rubbish.
While we were waiting for the BBQ, I went and met up with Dean and Jodie for a few minutes. They've been here a couple of days, and we're going to meet up with them properly one night for a few drinks.
No drinking for us tonight. Instead, we went to an Internet cafe and Therese rang her Grandma and Mum. I tried to ring my Mum but no answer, so instead I spent some time looking into Las Vegas. Ending up finding a REALLY good deal for a hotel. I mean REALLY good. I'll save the details for the Vegas blog...
