We left Franz Josef this morning to go
further south. Again, the scenery was absolutely spectacular. It's just unbelievable how nice it is.

We made a stop at Roaring Billy Falls for about an hour. We hung out on a big pebbled island type thing in the middle of the river, which had good views of the river.

One thing we're not enjoying about the west coast is being eaten alive by Sand Flies. They're worse than mosquito bites because these things leave blood behind a lot of the time, and they are really really itchy.

Tonight we are staying in a place called Makarora. There's nothing there at all really. It's just more like a camp site that has A-Frame chalets. It's still in a nice setting though with mountains on either side of us. We had to spend a bit of time sorting out our Stray bus for the next week, and after that we all had an early night for a change.
